Christmas at Thornberries

Christmas is just around the corner and the festive season is a magical time at Thornberries. With great food and drink, a warm relaxed atmosphere and mulled wine aplenty there really is no better place to spend Christmas and New Year. 

We are very excited by what we have planned during December. There will be a wide range of entertainment including live performers and musicians, a specially prepared Christmas menu and many festive events and parties. 

Our Christmas Jumper Day will be on Friday 18th December and we’re expecting this to be a huge success. With free unlimited tea or coffee when you buy one of our homemade desserts or cakes and Eliots Mulled Wine for just £4.50 it will be a jolly occasion. In aid of Text Santa, 10% of the bill on the day will be donated to the following charities: MacMillan Cancer Support, Make a Wish and Save the Children.  We are proud to support these charities and the day should be a great fun for everybody involved so grab your friends and come and enjoy yourself, all for a good cause!

Christmas day should be a time to sit back, relax and enjoy the day with friends and family. New Years Eve Promises to be even bigger and better than last year. With a live DJ playing all night as well as some great Thornberries food and drink, we will be celebrating the New Year in style. Last years’ NYE party was such a success that our tickets sold out in just a few days this year!

What's been happening at Thornberries?

September was a busy month here at Thornberries bar and Grill. We’ve had live performances, new items added to our menu, exciting events, parties and much more. We started the month by introducing traditional Sunday lunch to our menu, now you can come and spend a relaxing Sunday with us in the restaurant, whilst enjoying a full, traditional Sunday Lunch without having to even set foot your kitchen. Sundays are supposed to a relaxing, enjoyable time to spend with friends and family, so let us allow you to do this by doing the hard work for you.

We love hosting these parties and functions, large or small each one is different and a pleasure to take part in.

The Macmillan Coffee morning was hosted on the 2^nd October, this proved to be a huge success and we must thank everybody involved. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a fundraising event where people all over the UK can host coffee mornings and make donations on the day to Macmillan, helping people who are suffering with cancer. The money raised exceeded everybody’s expectations. By simply dropping by for a cuppa’ people were able to have a relaxing morning, meet new people and support the brilliant work Macmillan do for people across the UK.

So what have we got planned?

Our Halloween costume party has been confirmed for the 31^st of October, tickets are

available for just £2 from Thornberries. We are raising funds on the night in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society and will be hosting raffles, competitions as well as spooky themed music all night long. There will also be charity fashion event with designs by Lucy Cobb of Uppermill, here you can buy a range of clothing and accessories from their AW15 collection. There will also be a raffle at the show and a free glass of wine and nibbles with every £4 donation.
